The culmination of the rescue operation within the Uttarkashi tunnel is nigh, with earnest endeavors directed at imminently liberating the 41 ensnared laborers. Outside the tunnel, ambulances stand sentinel, and a contingent of seven savants from Delhi stands ready to propel the operation forward.
A hurdle beset the rescue undertaking during the nocturnal hours of Wednesday, as iron bars obstructed the passageway during the drilling process. This obstacle manifested post 6 pm, subsequent to the insertion of an escape conduit measuring up to 44 meters into the debris through horizontal drilling.
